What to Expect at the National Lupus Advocacy Summit
This May during Lupus Awareness Month, lupus advocates from across the country will unite on Capitol Hill to make lupus a priority on the national health agenda. Join us in Washington, DC for the National Lupus Advocacy Summit, the nation's largest lupus advocacy event from May 19–21! At this in-person event, you'll have the chance to engage with lupus experts, connect with fellow advocates, and take action on Capitol Hill to build support for the fight against lupus. Here is what you can expect when registering to attend:
Advocacy in Action
Participating in the Summit is your chance to actively combat lupus. By joining us, you'll play a crucial role in urging Congress to increase funding for lupus research and ensure people with lupus have access to the care they need when they need it.
The Foundation will schedule meetings for you with your two U.S. Senators and your U.S. Representative so that you can share your lupus story with your elected officials and emphasize the urgent need for action.
Putting a Face to Lupus
Your legislators need to understand that lupus affects real people, from your family and friends to your neighbors. Your presence at the Summit will ensure that lupus doesn't remain just numbers on a page. Sharing your story can create a huge impact in the lives of others!
Learn the Latest in Lupus Research
Summit attendees will learn from leaders in the lupus field about groundbreaking treatments designed to improve the lives of those living with lupus.
Empowering Education and Access to Resources
Hear from lupus physicians and discover the wealth of resources and services provided by the Lupus Foundation of America that can assist you in managing your lupus and living a better life.
Building Connections
Connect with fellow advocates who share your passion for the cause. Develop new relationships and strengthen existing ones as we unite in the fight against lupus.
Advocate Throughout the Year
In addition to advocating on Capitol Hill during the Summit, you will learn about other ways you can advocate and make a difference throughout the year, including in your hometown and state.
