Who is YOUR Lupus Community?
By mother and caregiver, Kim Harris.
I have been with my daughter Jessica every step of her lupus journey.
It hasn’t always been easy. It was heart-wrenching to see her in so much pain. When she was first diagnosed at age 28, she had to move back home. I saw her struggle with flare after flare until doctors could find the right treatment combination for her.
One thing that has helped us both along the way is the support and resources offered by the Lupus Foundation of America.
Your year-end gift will help people like us—people who need help navigating life with lupus.
The Foundation’s LupusConnect online community has helped me meet others who provide support to family members living with lupus. For Jessica, it has allowed her to stay in touch with others who have lupus and learn from their experiences. Lupus can be debilitating. Sometimes you can’t even get out of bed due to pain and fatigue. That’s why LupusConnect is so valuable. You can connect anytime and have a world of support at your fingertips.
And I have learned so much from the National Lupus Advocacy Summits I have attended. I’ve met lupus experts and so many other people impacted by this disease. These relationships have helped us build a community of support for whatever challenges lupus brings our way.
Your donation makes it possible for people to have the care, resources and support they need to meet the challenges of living with lupus. Give today!
