New Resources Identified to Access Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)
The Lupus Foundation of America has been working to address the shortage of hydroxychloroquine for people with lupus. In addition to providing tips for refilling hydroxychloroquine prescriptions and advocating for people with lupus to state and federal governments, state boards of pharmacy, drug manufacturers, and other stakeholders we have been working to identify pharmacies that have supplies of hydroxychloroquine that can be accessed by people with lupus.
The Lupus Foundation of America is in no way affiliated with any of the pharmacies listed below. We simply want to share this information as options available for further review to help those experiencing a challenge filling their prescription due to a shortage at their pharmacy.
Find information below on pharmacies who sell FDA-approved drugs and currently have inventory of hydroxychloroquine and/or Plaquenil.

State Regulation of Online Pharmacies
Online pharmacies are required to follow applicable laws in both the state where they are based and in the state where the patient lives. In instances where the laws differ between the two states, standard practice is for the online pharmacy to abide by the more strict laws to ensure they remain in compliance in both states.
As many states have taken action to regulate the prescribing and dispensing of hydroxychloroquine, we recommend checking http://www.lupus.org/StateAction before placing an order on any online pharmacy to find out what your state has done and if it will affect your prescription.
We will share more resources and information as they become available.
Bringing together all of our questions and answers, videos, news items, and resources around the coronavirus and how it affects people living with lupus.
