I’m Walking to End Lupus. Join Me?
My journey into the world of volunteering and raising awareness for Lupus was not just a decision I made; it’s due to my incredible mother. She is the reason I found myself deeply immersed in the cause, driven by a desire to make a difference in the lives of those battling lupus.
My mother, a woman of strength and resilience, has lived with lupus for over 20 years. Her journey was started by countless doctor's appointments, medication regimes, and periods of overwhelming fatigue, pain, and memory loss. It took over three years to get her Lupus diagnosis. She never lets lupus define her and she remains fiercely determined to live a full life, embracing every moment with a smile that radiates warmth and courage from within.
I’ve witnessed the daily challenges she faces. I see the toll that lupus takes on her body and the emotional strain it places on her. But through it all, my mom never complains. Instead, she channels her energy into educating herself about lupus, advocating for herself and others. Together we have worked on ways to make her journey easier with nutrition, mental and physical exercises. As a team we work hard to make sure she has the best quality of life.
My mother's battle with lupus is a challenging and emotional journey, but it’s also a source of inspiration and strength. She continues to teach me the power of resilience, compassion, and the importance of giving back. Volunteering with the Lupus organizations has become my way of raising awareness throughout my community and a way to make sure that others can learn from my families story. My goal is to build a community dedicated to make life better for those affected by this challenging disease.
Let's Make a Difference Together!
