Personal Stories
Jody S. - Diagnosed Age 61
My story began with a gut infection that went undiagnosed for several months. Finally, after an abdominal biopsy, H. pylori was diagnosed. It was treated and cured. Several weeks after the H. Pylori was cured, a rash appeared all over my back. A biopsy of the rash showed possible lupus. A rheumatologist diagnosed me with lupus after many tests and cleared up the rash with prednisone. I changed to another rheumatologist (who I liked better) who did further testing and started me on Plaquenil. I took 2 (200mg) tablets for several years twice a day. My lupus improved. I now take one Placquenil tablet once a day. I have now been in remission for 3 years and feeling great.
