Miguel S. - Diagnosed Age 14

I am from Spain and when I was 15 years old I was diagnosed with lupus. It took 4 months for the doctors to realize that I had lupus. First, they thought that I had some kind of infection then they thought that I had borrelia. Finally as the last chance, I had to fly to the capital of southern Spain, Seville, where they finally discovered that what I have was lupus.

Since 2015 I have been dealing with the illness with a lot of pain and lots of inflammation in all parts of my body. At the beginning of this month I finally got to experience a new biological treatment called belimumab, but in the last blood test they have detected that something is going wrong with my kidneys so they have to do more tests. If my kidneys are not working correctly they will have to put me on the normal corticoids treatment again.
