Vanessa W. - Diagnosed at age 67
I was diagnosed with Lupus in February of this year. I am already lactose intolerant and that means no dairy products which makes it hard to get anything with calcium in it. I had to change my diet and now I have to change my diet again. I couldn't raise my arms, couldn't sleep on my back because of the severe pain in both front shoulders. I had to go through a much of tests to find out why I was having so much pain. I was going through physical therapy to try to get the pain go away. Now I go through tests to keep an eye on this disease. I can't be near family if they are sick. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I just hope they find a cure for this disease.
