The hunt for biomarkers of lupus activity in the kidneys
Dr. Stacy P. Ardoin is a pediatric expert at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She received a research grant from the Lupus Foundation of America's Michael Jon Barlin Pediatric Lupus Research Program. Dr. Ardoin's study is helping to determine whether levels of microRNA in the urine can indicate lupus nephritis-related disease activity and damage in the kidneys of children with lupus. In this video, she explains how her research is helping to unlock the mysteries of this very devastating and potentially fatal complications of lupus.
