Why:
Lupus, an unpredictable and misunderstood autoimmune disease, impacts more than 1.5 million people and takes an average of 10-12 years to diagnose. Sixty percent of those who suffer from lupus are Black or Hispanic and it can often take up to 15 years or more for them to receive a lupus diagnosis.
The Lupus Foundation of America Texas Gulf Coast Chapter aims to shorten the time to diagnose and improve the lives of those living with the disease.
