Dear Friends, In Georgia, we often speak of the lupus community as including not only those living with lupus but also their families, friends, and caregivers. Together, our lupus warriors unite with the Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter (LFAGA) staff, board members, trained volunteer leaders, and community partners to create a strong and comprehensive support network. Through these collaborative efforts, we hear the most powerful and humbling stories of how lupus impacts individuals and their loved ones. - Support Groups serve as a vital resource for the lupus community, offering peer- to-peer support to over 400 individuals, including men, Hispanic individuals, young adults, individuals living with lupus nephritis and caregivers.
- Lupus Education Programs reaching 600+ patients, including our annual Lupus Empowerment Summit, webinars, and workshops.
- Lupus Advocacy Day at the Georgia State Capitol with 100+ lupus activists sharing their personal lupus journeys with their elected officials.
- Patient Navigator Program is a pivotal initiative designed to support individuals living with lupus. The program connects participants with essential community resources and addresses basic needs. In collaboration with healthcare teams from Grady and Emory, we ensure comprehensive and accessible care. In June 2024, we expanded this program to include all people living with lupus in Georgia.
- The most important work continues at the patient services level, providing critical resources to 1,300+ people with lupus including Emergency Financial Assistance to people with lupus in need.
While we celebrate these successes, there is still so much more we can achieve together. As we look ahead to the coming year, we’re setting ambitious goals to continue to reduce the time to diagnosis of lupus, ensure that people living with lupus have an arsenal of safe and effective treatments and expand direct services and increase access to treatments and care. But to make this vision a reality, we need your help. Please support our Chapter and the families fighting lupus, helping us to help others by giving a year end contribution. Your contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500, or more will ensure that together, we work towards a brighter future for all those living with lupus. We thank you in advance for your generosity, continued financial support, and for being a part of our world. Best wishes during this Holiday season and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Sincerely, |
