Dr. Rovin is the Director of the Division of Nephrology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and a member of our Medical and Scientific Advisory Council at the Lupus Foundation of America. He specializes in treating autoimmune kidney disease.
Dr. Rovin talks to us about why kidneys are important to our overall health, how inflammation damages them, and what that means for people with lupus. We alsodiscuss the stages of kidney disease from the undetectable beginning of the damage through dialysis and transplantation. Dr. Rovin also shares some important strategies for maintaining kidney health and why he is hopeful for the future of kidney disease treatments for people with lupus.
