Dr. Rosalind Ramsey-Goldman is the Solovy Arthritis Research Society Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL and she directs the Patient-Oriented Clinical Research Program in lupus having funding from NIH, foundations, philanthropy, and industry. She is a leader in clinical investigation locally, nationally and internationally. Her research program examines risk factors to minimize complications in lupus including osteoporosis, malignancy, and cardiovascular disease. Through national and international collaborations, she studies genetic risk factors for disease severity/susceptibility; collaborates on investigations studying pathogenesis of disease; develops disease classification criteria, flare assessments, nephritis guidelines, and assessment of patient outcomes (fatigue). Many of these clinical investigations incorporate analysis of lupus in multiethnic cohorts examining clinical, laboratory, and health related outcomes. She is active in designing, monitoring and performing clinical trials, identifying novel biomarkers, and testing innovative therapies. She has extensive experience in study design, development and usage of clinical and biologic registries, and numerous collaborations with laboratory scientists performing translational research in SLE. She was co-chair of the clinical lupus abstract selection committee for the ACR annual meeting, was a previous Chair of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC), and was a co-editor for Arthritis & Rheumatology. She held multiple leadership positions for the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). She was chair of the Profession Meetings Committee, Chair of the Committee on Education, COE, served on the Board of Directors, was a member of the Nominations and Appointments Committee (2012-2014) and the Collaborative Initiatives [COIN] subcommittee. She has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Council for the Rheumatology Research Foundation [RRF] (2014-2017) and is now an ambassador for the RRF. She has published over 300 manuscripts (260 peer reviewed and 83 invited papers). Dr. Ramsey-Goldman received the 2016 Lawren H. Daltroy award for health communication, the 2017 Evelyn V. Hess award from the Lupus Foundation of America, the Paula Stern Award for Outstanding Women in Science and Medicine presented by the Women Faculty Organization (WFO), Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in June 2018, and she was appointed a Master of the ACR in 2019. She has served on the Medical and Scientific Council of the Lupus Foundation of America since 2018.
